More than 450 participants dressed in pink to show their support for loved ones living with breast or ovarian cancer, running and walking to raise funds for cancer research.
Organiser Jeff Hintum, who has been involved in running the Warrnambool event for the past 10 years, told the Brolga that when the final tally is complete, they hope to have raised more than $20,000. The charity event will accept donations until the end of June.
“It used to be only breast cancer, but this is the second year where we’re raising funds for breast and ovarian cancer.”

Hintum said Sunday’s event had drawn the second highest number of runners and walkers in his time as an organiser. The peak was about 900 people.

“Raising money is a bonus on top of actually recognising and supporting people [who] are going through cancer, or have had cancer affect their lives previously - to me it's more about that.”

Hintum thanked local businesses and community members who supported the day.
