It has seven-bedrooms, one tennis court and a post-Colonial history dating back nearly 150 years.
Set on more than 50 hectares of land bordering Otway National Park, with full frontage to the Great Ocean Road near Aireys Inlet, this property is on the market for only the second time since it was originally acquired in 1879.

The package: The home has three living areas, three bathrooms and floor-to-ceiling windows, while the property has natural springs and plenty of room for livestock.
The history: The land was settled by Europeans Jonas Hollingworth and his wife Elizabeth, according to the Aireys Inlet Tourism and Traders’ Association.
It’s unclear where the family originated from. Hollingworth built a bark hut on the land, later replaced by a driftwood cottage.
According to information at Loveridge Lookout supplied by Surf Coast Shire Council, a rumour did the rounds suggesting Hollingworth quietly rowed out to the shipwreck of Inverlochy in 1903 to pilfer whisky left on board.
Oops: In December 1902 the Inverlochy had met the same fate as so many other ships on the coast. In this instance, it was wrecked on Butler’s Reef near Anglesea.
As the tale goes, Hollingworth buried the whisky, but the next morning a landslip occurred and the liquor was lost.

Generations: When Elizabeth became ill in 1910, their daughter Mary Ann and her husband William George Clark took over the farm. The Clarks expanded the operation, producing butter, milk, eggs and poultry, which they delivered to Lorne on horseback. They continued to supply the district until the 1950s.
By 1913, a telephone line was connected and the farm also offered guest quarters, a post office and a telephone exchange.
Listings state the property has views over 6km of beach to the Split Point Lighthouse.

According to realestate.com.au, the farm last sold in 1980 for $176,000. In 1983, most of the original structures were razed in the Ash Wednesday fires. Rebuilding commenced in 1984, and extensions were added in the early 2000s.
The property has a price guide of $9 million to $9.9 million.
