Keep local news alive in western Victoria

The West Vic Brolga is an independent newsroom and free for everyone.

We have no billionaire owner and no paywall.

Advertisers, and readers like you, help support and pay for our work.

Every dollar we raise goes directly to pay for reporters covering council meetings, local schools, planning fights and the stories nobody else in our area is chasing. Your support means we can keep putting great local news in your inbox and in your video feeds.

Hundreds of locals already chip in.

About Gazette

The West Vic Brolga is owned and operated by Gazette – an independent local news publisher offering free, balanced reporting to serve and connect communities.

Gazette reaches audiences where they are through social media, vertical video, and newsletters, providing high-quality news for Australians who don’t subscribe to paywalled services.

Gazette operates as a social enterprise funded by reader contributions, sponsorships, philanthropic support, advertising, and events. Editorial independence is a core tenet of our work – we maintain an editorial firewall between our newsrooms and our funders, and we do not accept funding from political organisations.
