Where to find a real Christmas tree in western Victoria this December

The region’s Christmas tree farms have opened their gates to welcome the festive rush. If you’re looking for proper pine over plastic, here’s where you can go in western Victoria to track one down.
Woodford Christmas Tree Farm
Located at 125 Plummers Hill Road, north of Warrnambool, Woodford allows visitors to select a tree which staff will cut for them.
Prices generally range from $70 to $100, depending on size.
Opening hours: 4-6pm weeknights and 10am-8pm weekends.
Tarrington Trees
Just outside Hamilton at 7754 Hamilton Highway, Tarrington offers a similar system of tagging and cutting your tree to take home, but you can also arrange collection for later.
Trees range from five to 10 feet, with trees priced between $80 and $150.
Opening hours: 5-8pm weeknights, 9am-4pm weekends.
Yeowarra Tree Farm
Online delivery or pick and cut options are available at Yeowarra, located at 5855 Princes Highway Irrewarra, just outside Colac.
Trees range from $102 for five feet, to $152 for 8 feet.
Yeowarra suggests booking, but walk-ins are also welcomed. The farm will be open until December 21.
Opening hours: 3-6pm Wednesday to Friday, 8am-5pm weekends.
Victoria Christmas Tree Farm
Victoria Christmas Tree Farm, on the corner of Lightfoot Lane and Sobeys Road, Napoleons, south of Ballarat, offers delivery and click-and-collect if shoppers can’t make it to pick and cut their own tree, or a selection of pre-cut trees is also available.
Prices range from $80 for five feet to $125 for 8 feet. Premium trees can also be purchased for a higher price.
Opening hours: 8am-6pm daily until December 22.
