Spring school holidays are here and West Vic is packed with things to do. From hands-on workshops to community festivals, here are some easy ways to keep the kids busy without breaking the bank.

School Holiday activities in Warrnambool

2025 Junior Fishing Classic

The Warrnambool Offshore and Light Game Fishing Club is bringing back its junior fishing competition across the first week of the school holidays, with prizes for each heaviest or longest fish species, along with Champion Tournament Angler and more.

Gabby's Dollhouse The Movie: Warrnambool Toy Library Fundraiser

Head to the Capitol Cinema Warrnambool on the first day of school holidays for a special screening of Gabby's Dollhouse: The Movie. Proceeds from this event will go towards supporting the Warrnambool Toy Library.

Choose Your Own Adventure Slime Workshop

Hosted by 11-year-old slime aficionado Amina from the Hamilton Sensory Studio, kids can pick their own slime texture and customise four 50ml slime pots with colours, scents, clay, foam, charms and sprinkles.

Giggles & Goblins

Make your own goblin or creature from clay in this guided session hosted by Creative Otways Inc. There are plenty of other workshops to choose from across the school holidays.

Colac Kids Festival

With a visit from the Melbourne Renegades van, The Mik Maks band, a DJ dance party, food trucks and more on offer, the Colac Kids Festival is a fundraising event for the Colac Salvation Army’s School Engagement program.

Choose Your Own Adventure Slime Workshop

The slime-making workshop has multiple workshop times across three days in Hamilton. The  sessions will also offer challenges like the longest slime stretch, biggest bubble, and the crunchiest slime.

When: September 22-24, 10:30am, 11:30am and 12:30pm

Movie and craft - Kangaroo

Join the Hamilton Wildlife Shelter for a presentation about the work they do in rescuing animals. You may even be able to cuddle a rescued animal. Following on from the talk, kids can make their own Kangaroo pencil holder and watch the movie Kangaroo in the Hamilton Cinema.

Daily Grind - Intro to Coffee

In this hands-on class, 15-25 year-olds can learn the basics, from grinding beans and pulling espresso shots to steaming milk and pouring latte art, no experience needed.
